My Cocaine enemy

    Sun Oct 18, 2020 10:38 pm

I need someone or people to help me stop taking cocaine after almost 20 years. It has made me completely out of control and has resulted in a sex addiction and other risky behaviors.

My use has come back to haunt me and is making my life so difficult it’s almost beyond me coping. I am a great father but it’s started to impact my ability to be a great dad.

I am sober for 8 days and I hate myself

Hi Bettertinesplease welcome to forum and thank you for reaching out, it sounds like you're going through a really tough time.

That is a huge step going 8 days sober! I'm wondering if you have spoken to your GP or looked into detox or rehab facilities for some support?

    How are you going today?

    Yes welcome Bettertinesplease !

It's really great you found these forums and are reaching out for help. It sounds like you may need some more professional help to kick this addiction. Have you looked into possibly rehab? You can always call the the National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline on 1800 250 015 to have a chat about what’s been going on, but also to be linked in with professional help.

Is there anyone else struggling with cocaine addiction on the forums? If so, would you mind sharing how you are going with quitting?

Hey thanks for the response. Yeah I’m seeing a professional each week and still sober

I’m dealing with a number of very complicated parental things on top of quitting so it’s just really hard

    Hi Bettertinesplease

Thanks for sharing your experience with us

It must be really difficult quitting and at the same time dealing with other personal things. But it looks you are doing a great job! Well done on having a professional help and being sober.

Do you have any strategies to share with people who are going through similar experience?

Does anyone like to share some strategies on how to deal with quitting and at the same time also deal with complicated personal things?

Thank you for being so open and vulnerable with us @Bettertinesplease and @Deep blue.

I remember those early days of facing the weight of the consequences of my addiction with the buffer gone because I was clean. I certainly couldn't get through that time alone...

It sounds like some difficult demons that are being faced here.

I'm wondering how things are now and if you have managed to get any more help with what you're going through?
