This week self care for me is all about getting rest, exercising, reaching out for support and being there for my son however I can be.

this week I thought we could share some of the self-care we've been doing recently!

For me, it's been connecting with friends and ensuring I have at least one plan a week. I can get pretty housebound pretty easily and sometimes go a bit too long without seeing people, so making myself get out there and stay in touch is great for my mental health!

I really identify with what you've written @lhiver..............I can easily not see people for extended periods of time. I'm happy doing my own thing and being by myself but it does impact my mental health if I don't watch it.

I've been doing some pretty good things of late to look after myself and have been pretty satisfied with my self care. Where I keep going wrong though is with my food. I'm trying to lose weight for health reasons but keep self sabotaging any progress under the guise of treating myself...................but it's actually harming me.

My self care for this week is going to be making the hard decisions because they're better for me............and my health and long term goals.

    I can really relate @Lhiver and @PnorkelPW.

I became so isolated through COVID and got so used to being on my own. It took a while, but I finally feel like I'm well connected in my life again. It took a while to get back there and it took the same thing. Just being really intentional and retraining myself to get used to connecting with people again.

And man oh man have I been through the cycles of trying to make healthy changes, self sabotaging, getting bits and piece of progress but struggling with consistency. I've been able to have some good consistency over the past couple of months. Having a friend to train with has helped alot because we keep eachother accountable and go to the work together before gym.

This week self care for me has been allowing myself time to rest after a big couple of weeks, keeping consistent with the gym but also not being too hard on myself with eating, keeping a balance between the two and reaching out to my people to get through some challenges.

Accountability @ScorpionPW..........another area I'm struggling in. Having a training partner is so helpful. I'll have to see if I can find someone in the area who wants to get up at 5am with me

Yeah, I get that. Sometimes I find it hard to keep myself accountable if the stakes aren't high enough @PnorkelPW. Something I've tried to change over the years, and something that I can do with some things but not others. It's that tendency for things to be in extremes which is thinking and behaviour that is reminiscent of using days.

I hope you don't stop trying to get where you want to with the gym and find your groove again :)
